ABOUT BEBC

Building the economic infrastructure for Black-owned Canadian businesses.

We are not a charity. We are the architecture — certification, capital, and connections — that the ecosystem was missing.

OUR MISSION

Build economic infrastructure.

To divert $1 billion of Canada's procurement spend to Black-owned businesses through certification, training, capital access, and corporate partnerships. We build the systems that connect Black entrepreneurs to the markets that have historically excluded them.

OUR VISION

$1B to Black businesses.

An economy where Black entrepreneurship is not the exception but the foundation of Canadian economic growth. A Canada where $1 billion flows annually to certified Black-owned businesses through procurement, lending, and investment — permanently.

THREE PILLARS

How we build it.

BEST Method Programs

Cohort-based business training from foundation to capital access — the Build, Empower, Stabilize, Transform method that takes Black entrepreneurs from idea to procurement-ready.

Supplier Council

Canada's corporate procurement council connecting certified Black-owned suppliers to corporate and government buyers — turning certification into contracts.

Advocacy & Research

Policy work, data, and public research advancing the economic rights of Black Canadians and making the case for structural change at the national level.

THE PROOF

Infrastructure, not charity.

BEBC Society is not a new idea. It is the national scale of a 30-year-old model pioneered by the Black Business Initiative in Nova Scotia. Dr. Rustum Southwell proved that dedicated Black business infrastructure — certification, capital, and community — produces real economic outcomes.

We are not a charity doing good work. We are infrastructure doing necessary work. Every program we run, every contract we facilitate, every loan we unlock is documented, verified, and published.

We certify businesses for real procurement contracts — not marketing appearances.

Our capital access is through BOF, a lender built for Black entrepreneurs.

Every program outcome is documented and published in our annual Impact Report.
